If you are receiving a 4435 or 4436 error code, the system will prevent you from creating a new application. Please follow the steps below so that you are able to create your application and send the data needed to ETRAN. You must have an application # and the validation must be present in CAFS in order for SBA to begin review of this error for the specific application.
From Ventures:
- Click on SBA Submission
- Click Add and choose Create New Application
- Make sure your processing method is correct
- Select Yes to the Pre-Application question (not to be confused with Precheck)
- Continue and through the screens and click submit
- A Pre-Application will be created this sends minimal data to ETRAN
- Click on the Pre-Application Number you just created
- Click Next on the following screen click Next again, then click Submit
- You will get the same validation but now you should be able to see all of your data in CAFS
To confirm, log in to CAFS and access the application. The left side menu should have a full data set. Click on Validate at the top and check, do you see the same error?
If you see the same validation error, take a screenshot of the error and include that in your email along with the Application number when corresponding with SBA regarding this error.
This is not intended to produce a full and accurate T&C, this is intended as a workaround to submit data in order for SBA to begin the review and clearance of error 4435 and 4436.
Within CAFS:
If your Principal is marked anything other than US Citizen, validation errors 4435 and 4436 will be triggered.
- Upload forms to ETRAN > Documents > 1317 “INS/USCIS Verification – Borrower Consent”
- You should only upload USCIS Form G-845, all 3 pages of the “Verification” form only. DO NOT provide the Supplemental G845 Form.
- Release/ Authorization Form: The Release/Authorization form must be signed (with a “wet-Signature” in “ink”) by the alien and must include the name, address, date of birth, and one of the following statements required by USCIS:
- “I authorize the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to release information regarding my immigration status to [name of SBA Lender], because I am applying for a U.S. Small Business Administration loan.”
- “I authorize the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services to release alien verification information about me to [name of SBA Lender], because I am applying for a U.S. Small Business Administration loan.”
- Immigration Card: (current copy of both the front & back of a permanent resident card with a 10yr validity)
- Email SLPC at SacramentoAlienVerification@sba.gov with the following information per immigrant applicant:
- Borrower/Principal Name
- Lender Name
- ETRAN Application Number
After receiving the email:
- SLPC will review documentation
- SLPC will update clearance indicator within ETRAN
- SLPC will email results to Lender
- After receiving confirmation from SacramentoAlienVerification@sba.gov that clearance is granted and that the Validation Error is removed from your loan, access your loan file in CAFS and click Validate. Once you confirm the validation error is gone click SUBMIT in CAFS, DO NOT submit from Ventures as this will likely override the updated data in CAFs.
By clicking Submit in CAFS your application will move to In Compliance Review status. Once your status updates in CAFS you can come back to Ventures and manually update your loans status. When the loan status moves into Awaiting Documents you can proceed to submit from Ventures as normal.
