There are two ways to add a loan to your Ventures system:
- From the Home page, in the Common Actions widget, click on New Loan.
- From the Loans main menu grid, click the Add button.
Regardless of which method you choose the Create a Loan screen will appear. This is where you will enter initial information for your loan.
Any field marked with a red asterisk is a field you are required to fill out.
- Site Administrators can add further options to the drop down menus for Loan Types, Purpose, and Project Collateral Types.
- As you start to type in the Operating Company field, the field will list all available companies that match what you are entering. If the Company has already been added to your Ventures site, they will appear and you can click on them to select them. If the Company has not been added, click the add new option that appears at the end of the list of suggestions. This will lead to a popup where you can create the entry for the Company. This is known as the Company's Virtual Card. Fill in the fields and click save to create the Company in your system. For in depth instructions on adding a company, please click here. - The Lender field functions similarly to the Operating Company field. As you start typing, the field will start displaying available companies that match what you are entering. If the Company has already been added to your Ventures site, they will appear and you can click on them to select them. If the Company has not been added, click the add new option that appears at the end of the list of suggestions. This will lead to a popup where you can create the entry for the Company. The general steps are the same as described above.
- Once the Lender has been selected, the Lender Contact field will unlock. Clicking on it will display a list of all Contacts associated with the Lender you selected. Make your selection from the drop down menu. If you do not see the Lender Contact you are trying to select, click the Add New option at the bottom of the list. This will lead to a popup where you can create the entry for the Contact. This is known as the Contact’s Virtual Card. Fill in the fields and click save to create the Contact in your system. - The Organization field should automatically add the default organization set by your site administrator.
- Select the relevant office from the menu, if you do not see the office you need to select, contact your site administrator, they can add options to the Office drop down menu.
- The Loan Officer field will display contacts that have been assigned the Loan Officer role. If the officer you need to enter is not listed, instructions on how to assign the role of Loan Officer can be viewed here.
- The remaining fields are optional and can be added after the creation of the loan. Fill them if you have the information to do so.
- The Project Property address field will automatically populate with the address of the Operating Company, if the company has an address listed in the system.
- The Contact field in the referral source functions the same way as other contact fields on the page. Type in the name of the person you wish to select. If they are not in the system click Add New in the menu and add them to your Ventures system.
- If relevant, make sure you fill out the referral source section and note if a 159 agreement is required for the referral.
- Review your entries.
- Click Create.
