Lender users in Gateway, with a Staff user permission set, can create custom URL links to automatically assign a product to anyone that uses the link to start the application. This link allows the applicant to skip the validation process for that product except if there is a minimum credit score set. The custom URL link builder can also give the Lender user a way for the application that is started, using the URL link, to be assigned to themselves automatically. This is helpful if a lender wants to give a URL to someone interested in applying and the lender already knows the product the applicant should be assigned and they want application to be assigned to them.

How to create a custom URL link

• A Lender User with Staff Permissions can click on their Profile icon in the upper right hand corner of the portal
• Click Manage Account
• Go to Link Builder menu (Note: if you do not see the Link Builder menu refresh your page or CTRL+F5 from your keyboard)
• If you would like to have applications automatically assigned to you when applicants use the URL:
  • Enter a Referral Code to be appended to the custom link
  • The referral link needs to be a unique identifier that is not used by any other Lender User
  • Click Save
  • You will see the "Assign me to any applications created from this link" toggle appear and be set to "True"
• You can set the "Assign me to any applications created from this link" toggle to "False" at any time, it will default to True if there is a saved referral code on the account
• If you would like to assign a specific product to an application when the URL link is used:
  • Select a Product from the Loan Product menu
• Click Generate Link button
• A custom URL link will appear based off the referral code saved and/or product selected on your screen in the Generated Link section
• Click on the Copy icon to copy the link and provide to applicants

***Important Notes***

• If you change your referral code at any point, any links with the old referral code will not be assigned to you
• You can come into Link Builder menu at any time to generate a new link
• If you do not have Staff permission sets, you will still be able to access the menu and build a link with a Product assigned, but will not be able to add a Referral Code
