Update - February 10, 2026- Lenders applications are being withdrawn in CAFs after Compliance Review.

 

 

We have heard reports from Lenders that their applications are being Withdrawn in CAFS after the Compliance Review due to Validation Error “For Principal, Tax ID XXX, Country of Principal Residence is mandatory field (4465)”.

 

If you currently have a Withdrawn application please do the following to submit.

 

This is being caused due to 4465 showing as a Warning in Ventures, and then switching to a Validation error once submitted to CAFS. We are currently discussing resolutions with the SBA team.

• The current workaround is to access your withdrawn application in CAFS, click Copy to create a new application in CAFS, then answer the Principals Country of Residence questions referred to in your validation error. Save.
• Click Validate to confirm no other errors are present
• We have been told by SBA that lenders must also upload their required loan documentation into CAFS at this point in time in order to prevent the application from being withdrawn again. We know this is not ideal and essentially means your loan needs to be ready for submission before attempting to get it through a Compliance Review. If there are compliance codes present you would be notified, but if there are none your application would move into Reviewer 1 and be submitted.
• Then Submit from CAFS and it should move to In Compliance Review and not be Withdrawn. You may link this new app# to your Ventures loan. 

Important to note: ASM (document submission) is only available in Ventures. With this workaround you will not be able to choose ASM in CAFS while selecting your processing method.
