The Loan Overview Page
print icon

Once a loan is entered into Ventures, anytime you access it, the overview page for the loan will load. The overview page is the starting point for any actions you wish to take with the loan. To access a loan:

  • If you were recently working on the loan, you will find it listed on your homepage under the “Recently Opened” widget, click it to access the loan.

  • Alternatively, click on Loans in the menu near the top of the screen. In the Loans menu, search for the name of the loan you would like to access. When you find it, click on it to load it.

  • The General Tab on the Overview page of the loan will load. This is the starting point when you access the loan file.

The information on the general tab updates based on the loan type. For example, if the loan is a commercial loan, you will not see the SBA information section. The status of the loan also affects the sections and fields you will see. For example, for a loan is in Prospect status, you will not see the portfolio status dates section.

The General Tab contains important information regarding the loan including SBA information if applicable, lender information, important dates, portfolio status dates (for 7a and 504 loans in funded status), the project property address and contact addresses for servicing and mail (if the loan is in approved or funded status.)

  • Go through and fill out all relevant information.

You can change the status of the loan by:

  • Click the hyperlinked status. The Change Loan Status pop up will appear.

  • In the pop up, use the New Status dropdown field to select the status you wish to move the Loan to. Click Next.

  • If there are any validations or errors in the file , the pop up will update and list them. Clicking on the error will load the page the error exists on, allowing you to troubleshoot. It is good practice to go through and correct any validation errors that appear, but you will still be able to continue without doing so. Click next.

  • The popup will update with some options that differ based on the status you are moving the loan to. In our example we can see that when we set the loan to open status, you have the option to set a Sub Status. Fill in the sub status if needed, then click Finish.

  • The pop up will disappear. You should see the status update to the status you selected.

The loan overview page is your starting point for data entry. Clicking on any menu item in the menu on the left will take you to the relevant page for the specific loan you are on.

The Loan Log tab is a customizable tab that contains dates relevant to the life cycle of the loan. The date fields will update based on what stage of the process the loan is in, and what type of loan it is. You can add fields to the loan log. Please review the Loan Log article and the Custom Fields article for more information.
