This page allows you to add additional purpose types. Items entered here appear in the drop down menu on the loan general page. Only site administrators can add additional purpose types.

• Click on Administration in the menu at the top of the screen.
• Click on Reference in the menu on the left
• In the Reference submenu click Loan
• In the Loan submenu click Purpose Types
• To add a type click Add.

 

• The add purpose type pop up will appear. Enter a name for the type you are creating. This is the name that will appear in the dropdown menu when a user is selecting it, so make it as descriptive as possible.
• Mark the type active. If the active box is not checked, the type you are creating will not be available for selection.
• If you use Transaction Level Reporting, assign a TLR purpose to the type. This will map the type to the correct TLR purpose when you export the transaction level report. It is important to make sure you map the TLR purpose if you are using the TLR report.
• When you finish filling out the information you need to, click save.

 

To edit a type:

• Click the hyperlinked type name .

• The edit type  popup will appear. It is identical to the Add Type pop up pictured above. Make your edits and click save.

We do not recommend deleting purpose types, instead if you want to remove a type as an option in your system, mark it inactive:

• Click on the type name.
• Uncheck the active box, then clicking save. This will remove the type from the selection in Ventures, but will not affect loans the type has already been used in.
• Click Save

 

If you do want to delete the type:

• Click the X icon in the row of the type you want to delete.

• A pop up will appear asking you to confirm that you want to delete the type. Before you confirm that you want to delete type, it is important you use the Replace With dropdown menu to select a replacement type . This type will automatically replace the type you are deleting anywhere it is selected. Make sure you select a type to replace the deleted type with.

• Confirm that you want to delete the type by clicking the delete button.

You will return to the purpose types page and the type will be deleted.
