The Worksheet Templates menu is where you will create custom Risk Rating Worksheet Templates, for use in the risk ratings section of Ventures.

To access the Worksheet Template page, you have to be a Site Administrator:
- Click on Administration in the menu at the top of the screen.
- Click on Reference in the menu on the left.
- In the reference submenu, click Risk Rating
- In the Risk Rating submenu, click Worksheet Templates
Creating Risk Rating Templates
You can create a template from scratch, or you can copy a preexisting template to use as a base to modify by clicking the copy button next to the template you are trying to copy. If you click copy, the copied worksheet will appear in the table. Click it to edit it and follow the instructions below.
- Click Add to create a template from scratch. A pop up will appear.
- Enter a name for the template. This is the option users will choose when selecting which risk rating to use so make sure it is descriptive.
- Ensure the active checkbox is checked. This will allow the template you are creating to appear as an option when creating a risk rating for a loan.
- The weight scores check box should be checked if you want to use weighted categories. You will need to make sure that the total of your weighted categories is equal to 1 (which represents 100%).
- If enabled, the Allow Edit of All Formulas makes all scores user selectable. This option if enabled turns off the auto calculation feature.
- Enter a description for the template in the description field. Click save.
Creating your Risk Rating Formulas
Now you need to build the risk rating formula, to do this:
- Click the name of the template you have just created.
- In the formulas section click Add.
- The Add formula pop up will appear. Select the Formula type. Ventures has several pre-built formula types to choose from. If you want to create your own, select Custom: User Defined. If you select Custom: User Defined, you must enter a custom description in the custom description field. If you select a pre-built formula, the description field is optional.

- Add a sort order. This is the position the formula will have in the flow of the sheet (in other words will it appear first, second, third, etc). If you selected the weight scores option, enter the weight for this formula in the weight field. Enter the value as a decimal with 1 representing 100%.01.0 is 10%, 0.20 is 20% and so on.
- Click Save.
You will return to the previous pop up. You will see the formula you have created in the formulas section of the pop up. Next you need to assign scoring criteria to the formulas you have added.
- Click on the formula you have added in the formula section. The edit formula pop-up will appear.
- In the scores section click Add.
- Fill in:
- The Sort Order this is used to display the score in the desired order (i.e. show this score first, second, third,)
- Display Name is the description that will be associated with the score for this rating category
- Score: this is the score that will be assigned when you select this line item
- The Range is optional it allows the score to show a range of values that will translate to a score value.
- The Description is optional, use it to add a description for the score if you wish.
- When you finish filling out the pop up click Save.
When you click save, you will return to the Edit Formulas pop-up.
Continue to add scores till you add all the relevant scores you need to, to the formula.
- You can copy a score using the copy button. Click it and the copied score will appear in the table and the edit pop-up will appear allowing you to set the settings we have just review for the score that you copied.
- You can edit a score by clicking the edit button, or clicking on the Display Name of the score, the edit pop-up will appear, make your changes and clicking save.
- You can delete a score by clicking the X icon next to the score you want to delete and confirming you want to delete it in the confirmation pop up by clicking delete.
- Once you have added the scores you need to, to the formula, click save.
You will return to the worksheet template pop-up. You will see the formulas section. Continue to add formulas as needed to build your risk rating worksheet. Remember after you add a formula, click the formula name and enter scores as demonstrated above.
You can copy a formula using the copy button. Click it and the copied formula will appear in the table and the edit pop up will appear allowing you to enter scores for the formula. Copying a formula will also copy scores already created in the formula you are copying.
- You can edit a formula by clicking the formula type, making changes and clicking save.
- You can delete a formula by clicking the icon next to the formula you want to delete and confirming you want to delete it in the confirmation pop up by clicking delete.
- Add as many formulas as you need to. Remember to go into each formula and set up the scores. Your weight should be equal to 1 if you are using weighted scores
- When you finish adding formulas, the scores to the formulas and you have double checked the information is entered correctly and everything is arranged in the correct order, click save.
- Your template will be created.
You can delete user created templates if there are no existing risk ratings that are using it. If there is a risk rating using the template, you will not be able to delete it. In general we do not recommend deleting risk rating templates.
Instead:
- Click on the template name.
- Uncheck the active box.
- Click Save.
This will remove the template from selection in Ventures, but will not affect any previously created risk ratings that used the template.
Remember, if there is a risk rating using the template, you will not be able to delete it. If you need to delete the template. Click on the name of the template. Click the delete button. Confirm that you want to delete the template by clicking the delete button.
The pop up will disappear and you will return to the risk rating worksheet template page. The template will be deleted.
You can create as many risk rating worksheet templates as you need.
Tip: As you are building your worksheet it can be helpful to have a loan open to preview the worksheet as you build it. If you are doing this, please note that you cannot edit a template that is being used. To continue editing your template after you preview it, make sure you delete the risk rating you are using as a preview this will allow the template to be editable.
